The Wabbit and a Delayed Hallowe'en

"You're late!" Ghost Bunny haunted the Gothic columns of the old cathedral and yelled at the Wabbit. "You're late for the Bunnyman!" The Wabbit looked bemused, Usually Ghost Bunny was mellow but on this occasion, she was flustered. She haunted up and down. "I had a lot on," shrugged the Wabbit. "Besides, Hallowe'en extends long into the Day of the Dead." Ghost Bunny fluttered as a spectre should. "You'll be dead in a minute if you don't look behind you." The Wabbit didn't budge. "Don't give me any faff about the Bunnyman." Lapinette chimed in. "He doesn't exist." Wabsworth and Skratch nodded in agreement. "The Bunnyman is usually the Wabbit or someone else," said Skratch, "He's just a trope." Ghost Bunny screeched like a hundred banshees. "Well this time, the tropes on you." They could hear thudding and the sound of an axe being sharpened. "Sound effects, said Skratch." Wabsworth looked up at Ghost Bunny. "We could all use some new ideas." Ghost Bunny was appalled. "You have cried wolf once too often. There he is." She pointed with all her might. This time the Wabbit turned and in the eerie glow he saw a facsimile of the Bunnyman with a rather splendid axe. "He came last year and he was nothing but a projection," said Skratch. "We see him in our dreams and he's better looking," groaned Lapinette. "I brought him all the way from Pluto. He's real and will require compensation," yelled Ghost Bunny. "I do like that axe," said Lapinette. The axe descended, swinging. The Wabbit grabbed Lapinette out of the way and turned to Ghost Bunny. "We're all in a hurry for a drink. Chop chop!"
